We came across this cool label that showed during London Fashion Week most recently. You know we are trying to present more menswear to you so here you go!

The concept behind LAURENCEAIRLINE is based on how fashion and ethnic cultures can successfully collaborate to create possibilities for the future. For the SS 12 season LAURENCEAIRLINE launches its first menswear collection “ABIDJAN” focusing on shirts and underwear. LAURENCEAIRLINE brings together contemporary basics silhouettes from a European style with a strong African connection.

They work with the skills of Ivory Coast craftsmen and women for their ‘African Atelier’ and it is through this that the brand aims to develop skills and employment, and above all to give back to a local community, to a country that has witnessed a struggle with violence and political unrest since 2002.

In the aftermath of the Ivory Coast humanitarian and political crisis, there is a fashion label bringing hope to the country. The concept behind LAURENCEAIRLINE is based on how fashion and ethnic cultures can successfully collaborate to create possibilities for the future.

Laurence’s shirts tell the story of a stylish journey, the underpants being the intimate version of this same story. Fabrics are elegantly mixed together: poplin, chambray, and wax cotton. Along with graphical details the shirts’ soft and precise cuts make for a new kind of dynamism, fitting a modern tribal pop man.

On Wednesday 21st September, Laurence Airline joined with Undercurrent Magazine, Focus Organization, and the REBEL HQ to help promote the launch of their first menswear collection ABIDJAN 05BP which focuses on shirts and underwear.
The evening featured a screening of a short film shot in the Ivory Coast (Philippe Galowich) and music from Pollinate Records and Focus’ very own Ivorian Dj Oya Bun.
The launch of this menswear shirt collection will help generate employment in the company designer, Laurence’s hometown of Abidjan. In a country where education is still unaffordable for most, LAURENCEAIRLINE’s goal is to make learning a stimulating and creative trade possible.
The plan of action is in the near future to help in the construction of a learning space where young people will be given the chance to learn fashion skills like sewing and knitting. The concept behind Laurence Airline is based on how fashion and ethnic cultures can successfully collaborate to create future possibilities.
