Introducing BESTOW ELAN, African designs, inspirational shapes – born and bread in the heart of London. Created for the discerning female, the designer behind the 2011 BEFFTA Award winning women’s wear label Erzumah Ackerson draws her inspiration from both classic and vintage stimuli, as well as influences from her Ghanaian heritage.
Based on an aesthetic that revolves around the feminine silhouette, BESTOW ELAN creates garments that not only emphasise and celebrate ‘WOMAN’, their belief system is one that encourages every individual to reinvent themselves daily, based on what they choose to wear. Hence the collections being an eclectic mix of fabrics deriving from Ghana and West Africa – such as Kente weave and Ankara print, lending to shapes that can be worn from day to evening.
The SERAPHIM Collection is based on Bestow Elan’s depiction of modern day angels, hence the name SERAPHIM. Every item has been designed with the female form in mind, as well as the sanctity in the knowledge of a world of divine serenity. The collection portrays a world where the wearer is elevated by the ideal that their wings – which runs through the theme of the collection, has the ability to raise the wearer to heights that exceed trends and the expected. With a loose 70s influence, the chic winged silhouettes and luxury fabrics will transform your look from day to evening in a moment, whilst not prohibiting the busy lives of the modern day woman.
“The brand epitomises the female that is comfortable with herself, and embraces the need to communicate their individuality and self-expression. She will experiment with colour and print, and will always endeavor to make their own unique statement. We call them Bestow Elan girls!” – Erzumah Ackerson (Designer)
