The team over at ARISE magazine never fails to do us proud. With a well respected show over in Lagos every year and with a popular fashion magazine promoting and showcasing the best of African fashion, music, culture and lifestyle (yep you got it we are avid readers and fans too) they have not stopped there. This fashion season they are proud to announce a presentation of their fifth Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week (NYFW) runway show. This September entitled African Icons, will take place at 3pm on September 6th at the Lincoln Center.

They have a track record showing in New York with their first NYFW show in 2009 which saw Grace Jones walk alongside models Liya Kebede, Alek Wek, Lara Stone, Tyson Beckford and Behati Prinsloo, wearing creations by XULY Bët, Stoned Cherrie, Tiffany Amber and Momo. This year five African designers are set to show their collections: Gavin Rajah, Maki Oh, Ozwald Boateng, Tiffany Amber and Tsemaye Binitie.

This is one not to be missed…
