Fashion Manufacturing in Africa was the driver of me starting my business in 2010. And why I have evolved my business to become your best resource for sourcing fashion production and textiles in Africa.
In this weeks Fashion Africa Voices series Lawyer turned Factory founder Abisade Adenubi of “Heritage Apparels” (www.heritageapparels.com) shares how complex and in-depth BUT how equally rewarding it is to set up a fashion manufacturing house in NIGERIA and the opportunities found doing this.
Her textiles and garment factory is located in Abeokuta, South-West Nigeria and was launched at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, a place previously commissioned by former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Abisade describes this business as “A PROCESS DRIVEN ENDEAVOUR WITH MANY MOVING PARTS” and gives insights she’s gained one year into doing this business.
Adenubi describes her interest in beginning mass production of Adire – the indigo-dyed cloth made in southwestern Nigeria popular in that region where she founded the factory… or as we discussed… where the factory found her 🙂
