MANGO, Spain’s most international designer fashion brand, launches the fifth edition of the MANGO Fashion Awards, an event which aims to promote the international projection of new fashion talent. Participants will have the opportunity to present their collections before a prestigious jury and compete for 300,000 euros in prize money, the largest sum offered to date in a competition of this type.
The new registration period will commence on 15 March and designers will have until 15 May to present their applications. In June, the jury, made up of representatives of MANGO and five prestigious international design schools (Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design, London; Institut Français de la Mode, Paris; Istituto Marangoni, Milan; Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp; and l’Escola Superior de Disseny, Barcelona), will select 10 finalists from all the applications presented.
In the previous editions, the jury of the MANGO Fashion Awards had four outstanding chairpersons, the acclaimed designers Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier and Carolina Herrera. They were given the task of handing over awards to the Belgian duo of Sandrina Fasoli and Michaël Marson, winners of the first edition, the South Korean Lee Jean Youn, the winner of the second edition, the Belgian of Israeli origin, Helena Lumelsky, the winner of the third edition and the Thai designer Wisharawish Akarasantisook, the outstanding winner of the previous edition.
Following on from the success of the previous editions, the MANGO Fashion Awards has achieved an excellent reputation and major recognition within the industry, particularly among new fashion designers. MANGO is therefore continuing to position itself as a creative brand which is committed to design and young fashion talent, by helping them realise their dreams.
