Chichia London is one of our Africa Fashion Guide favourite ethical and made in Africa brands so we are always interested to see any upcoming collections by the team. Started in 2007 by Tanzanian designer Christine Mhando, this young, fresh label brings the SS13 capsule collection “On Second Thoughts..” to us which has been inspired by first impressions. What it compares it to is  how a person’s true personality is eventually exposed over a period of time. An interesting concept that can be seen via a classic Chichia London style of interesting yet simple silhouettes, in conjunction with intricate and fun detailing upon closer look.

Christine admits to taking on a level of experimentation with the conecpt of deconstruction alongside embellishments and colour mixing and pattern blocking in  patchwork way, which she presents with layers of prints and textures such as the  ’Extrovert’ dress and the ’Neurotic’ patchwork tee.

Chichia London never fails to impress and we are sure it will bring to next summer some must have pieces to every wardrobe of the avid African fashion buyer.
