The designer Tiaan Nagel was the recipient of a bursary to study fashion design at LISOF. This fashion school in South Africa has gained the reputation of being the most progressive fashion design school in Africa.
Some of Tiaan’s achievements include the Vukani Award for being the most innovative designer. He was the finalist for the Nederburg Designer Collection as well as took part in the Vukani and the Department of trade and industries exchange program to France in Paris to experience global fashion weeks and view their international collections and showrooms. Today Tiaan Nagel is focusing on his collection which is inspired and rooted by shape and form. This is what forms the foundation of the collection.
The collection explores ready to wear dressing by embracing fine materials, contemporary proportions and modern craftsmanship. It is all about exploring shape and form, whilst creating spaces for the body to operate and function. The Tiaan Nagel Collection caters for their diverse clientele with customers varying completely, by working on the philosophy of quietly challenging the traditions of simplicity through inventive pattern cutting that embeds subtle surprises in their clothing.
With Tiaan Nagel it is all about shape and form, the correct proportions the right materials and most importantly the pleasure of fashioning unconventional ways of presenting original designs that are both refined and sophisticated.
