Brenda Nambi is one of Uganda’s budding new designers and it is evident, she’s set for bigger things. At the recent East Africa Fashion Extravaganza held at the swanky Emin Pasha Hotel, Brenda displayed chic designs with rough cuts and silhouettes. After showcasing at various fashion shows around the region most notably being the Swahili Fashion week 2011, she isn’t a toddler in the industry. The petite beauty who doubles as a singer and dancer, designs all her stage costumes and for many performers in Uganda.

Brenda’s collection titled Sheer Elegance with a Twist, was a clever display of silk and chiffon. Her outfits had a wild twist that excited guests who literally sat on the edge of their seats in order to catch every piece on the catwalk. She revealed her daring side, as some of her pieces were quite revealing – with high slits that left visible parts of the thighs. She says that as she designed this collection, she envisioned a woman in her mind. ‘’I wanted to decorate an edgy woman who is ready to take on the world. A woman who is confident and is ready to exude it,” she proclaims.

The event was flanked by Mustafa Hassanali as the guest designer who also took the audience off their feet in applause with his latest Afrikalos Collection, which was a sea of vibrant fabrics with lots of colour.

These are some of the looks from collection.

I think this Girl has a lot of light up ahead of her, she is really struggling to stay up to the game, she handles everything the industry through to her in such a manner when no one thinks she will.
I really love her confidence………Way to go Bambi House and to the models!!
