Ivory Coast Fashion Week 2012

World Fashion Organization (WFO) is an entity established to provide a global platform for the national fashion industries, to promote corporate, environmental and social responsibility within the global fashion and textile industries, while building bridges of commerce and cultural understanding between nations, solidifying the vision ”Fashion for Development and Peace”. Represented in Ivory Coast by BIZNESSS GROUP CÔTE D’IVOIRE a Cultural Association for Cooperation in Development. The WFO Ivory Coast National Chapter was established in March 2010 and in March 2011 Mr. Coulibaly Severin, Chief Representative of the WFO Ivory Coast National Chapter was appointed as World Fashion Organization Regional Coordinator for West African countries. They share the following objectives:

  • Encourage the expansion of World Fashion in the fields of goods, services, capital and technology;
  • Promote international business relationships and understanding on the principle of World Fashion among business enterprises and nations;
  • Foster the increased participation in the World Fashion Forum by developed and developing countries alike, particularly with a view to better integrate all countries into the World Fashion;
  • Provide complete and reliable services for import and export with global coverage utilizing its portfolio of international Fashion and;
  • Abide the Constitution of World Fashion Organization.

From 1st-5th August 2012 will be held the Ivory Coast Fashion Week. Ivory Coast Fashion Week is a platform of promotion of the creativity of Ivorian Fashion industry and textile actors (Fashion Designers, Stylists, Models, traditional textile craftsmen, Hairdressers, Make-up artists, Choreographers, Fashion Photographers, etc.) as well as companies products and services. All these craftsmen with their creative genius gave a Fashion cultural identity to Ivory Coast as Abidjan (economic capital of the country) is considered as the Regional Fashion Capital in West Africa.

The 2nd edition of Ivory Coast Fashion Week will be organized under the theme: “Fashion Industry” in order to show at first the weight of this business sector in terms of job creation but also and especially organize reflection with Government, World Fashion industry leaders, partner in development and the financial institutions for a better organization of this industry.

Ivory Coast Fashion Week is also the platform of selection of Ivorian fashion industry actors who will represent the country at World Fashion Week and World Fashion Awards planned in United States of America in 2012.

The official Representative of World Fashion Organization in Ivory Coast, plan to organize every quarter a Fashion Week with a country Guest of Honor with his Fashion Industry Actors, Media and Authorities in order to help them access the Market, be well known in every country in the World. Ivory Coast Fashion Industry Actors (Fashion Designers, Stylists, Models, Hairdressers, Make-up, Fashion Photographers, Associations, Promoters of Fashion Shows, Cultural Journalists, Editors…) who have contributed due to their talent and creativity to give an identity and a brand image to their business sector in Africa will be also invited to take part to the International Fashion Events.

They aim to Promote, Cooperate, Finance, Educate, Protect are the five big activities in the heart of our strategy. Several projects and events have been conceived to implement this policy in order to contribute to the ascension of the Ivorian Fashion Industry at the international level.
