Ghana Fashion & Design Week Show (GFDW), is an event we are very excited about. Various fashion events have been tried in Ghana such as the proposal of The Clothes Show Ghana but they never reach fruition of have the full effect as desired. With the many popular designers of Ghanaian heritage in the Diaspora such as Christie Brown, Anita Quansah, Sika, Ohema Ohene, Kayobi Clothing there is a lot of talent from Ghana and so the opportunity to showcase in their home land is even better an opportunity. So it is with abated breath that we present to you this event.

The time is ripe for this so with it set to take place in 2012 we will see this premiere fashion and creative business event designed to educate and develop Ghana’s fashion and creative industry to a worldwide audience.

This event will epitomize the fashion scene in Ghana, with an annual event that celebrates Ghanaian and international designers.

African fashion continues to redefine itself and it’s place on the global market scene, with a selection of local Ghanaian designers being discovered locally and internationally recently, with many more aspiring emerging talents across Africa yet to be discovered!

The annual event, which will take place over a three-day period in 2012, will be the first in three years. This event brings creative Ghanaian designers, and in the diaspora, alongside international designers to showcase their collections to national and international retail buyers, Africa’s neo-fashion consumers, press and media TV, as well as fashion savvy celebrities.

GFDW 2012 will incorporate international standard fashion catwalk show, with exquisite on trend collections, mingled with refreshing african inspired collections. An inspirational exhibition hub displaying a range of creative brands, and, a fashion business seminar with briefing provided by industry experts, with a networking opportunity.

This is a great opportunity for both emerging and established designers to tap into such an inspiring venture!  AFRICA on the move . . . let’s walk with it!

GFDW brings you vision, education and creation.
